Privacy Policy
The short version: Soda Quit collects nothing about you.
Effective 12 September 2026
Soda Quit has no accounts, no sign-in and no server of ours. It makes no network requests of its own. Everything you enter — your plan and every drink you log — is written to your iPhone and stays there. We never see it, and there is nowhere for us to see it from.
What the app stores on your device
- Your reduction plan: starting amount, daily reduction, goal and the date the plan began.
- Every drink you log: the amount in millilitres and when you logged it.
- Preferences: your appearance setting and the date the daily card was last shown.
This lives in the app's own storage on the device, in the same place iOS keeps every app's data. Other apps cannot read it, and neither can we.
What we collect
Nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs of any kind. We do not know how many drinks you logged, whether you opened the app today, or that you exist at all. The App Store privacy label for Soda Quit reads Data Not Collected, and it is accurate.
Purchases
Soda Quit Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the payment; we never receive or see your card details, billing address or Apple Account. The app checks whether you own Pro by reading the purchase receipts Apple has already signed and placed on your device — there is no purchase database on our side.
Apple processes that transaction as its own data controller, under Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple also provides us with aggregate, anonymous sales reports, which say how many subscriptions were sold in a country — never who bought them.
Backups
If you have iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups switched on, iOS includes the app's storage — your plan and your log — in that backup, as it does for every app. That copy is held and encrypted by Apple under your Apple Account. It is not sent to us, and we have no way to reach it.
Deleting your data
- In the app, Settings → Start a new plan lets you begin again and, if you choose, delete every drink you have ever logged. That deletion is permanent.
- Deleting the app removes all of it from the device.
Because we hold nothing, there is no request to send us and nothing for us to erase on your behalf. Under the GDPR this means we act as neither controller nor processor of your personal data: the data never leaves your device.
Children
Soda Quit is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
